On a rainy Sunday morning in March this year I enjoyed a lovely visit to True Romantica in Kenilworth - finding out all about the Warwickshire bridal gown business, the hot trends for 2023 & how you know when the dress is the one!

Owner of Kenilworth bridal boutique True Romantica. Polly has been in the business for 18 years and her experience and passion for all things bridal shines through.
As well as learning more about the bridal gown side of the wonderful wedding world from this local industry oracle, I also asked her 5 burning questions I had!
THE INTERVIEW
What would you say is the top wedding trend for 2023?
Puff sleeves! All day long. Strapless dresses with detached puffed short sleeves. Very couture.
How do you know when the dress is THE dress?
Body language. You can see in a girl's face and in her body language. She just lights up!
Who is your favourite designer?
I love Lillian West. Floaty boho dresses. That's what brides come here for. Lillian West is perfect for rustic barn weddings.
How far in advance should brides be ordering their dresses?
Its important that the brides are sure they have found the right dress - and when they have, I recommend allowing 9-10 months, including alterations.
What do you love most about what you do?
Every bride is so different, different shapes and sizes, different personalities. I love guiding a bride through her own journey when she comes into the boutique. Showing her all the styles, and helping her find what suits her best. I never push, I guide, and years of expertise comes into it, to help my brides find the right dress for them. Its an emotional purchase, and seeing them light up when they find the right one is special.
