Humanity has forever looked to record the visual world around them, the faces of themselves and the people they love most (Henry VIII chose wives based on portraits sent from overseas!); and since cameras were invented, you could be forgiven for thinking - if you haven't been photographed, did you exist? I cherish the film photographs of my youth (I am a child of the pre-digital world), and the photographs of the people that came before me (see my beautiful Grandma walking with her father, my great-grandfather, in this vintage photograph). I pore over old photographs of the places I've lived and visited, and I have always been moved by how important they are to me.
If you are here because you love my work but couldn't quite put your finger on why - this could be it. It is what drives my work, and in turn drives my approach to your photographs. So lets get that date in the diary!
Regardless of the type of shoot - my approach is relaxed, reassuring but also enthusiastic. Whether you're a total natural in front of the camera, or can think of nothing worse, I ultimately want to give you a beautiful and lasting record of some of the best moments of your life!
